What is counselling?

Counselling provides a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly about what’s happening in your life. It can be an opportunity to explore difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences with someone who will listen without judgement.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be struggling with anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, stress, relationship difficulties or self harm. You may be coping with a difficult life event, feeling overwhelmed, or simply feel that something isn’t quite right. Whatever brings you to counselling, you don’t need to face it alone.

What is relational counselling?

Relational counselling is based on the belief that positive, supportive reslationships can help us further understand ourselves and create meaningful change. The relationship between counsellor and client is an important part of the counselling process. I aim to create a warm, accepting and genuine space where you can be yourself. Through building trust and understanding together, counselling can help you explore your experiences, gain new insights and develop confidence in navigating life’s challenges.

A Space Where You Can Be Yourself

I aim to provide a welcoming, inclusive and respectful space for all young people. I recognise and value people’s different backgrounds, identities and experiences, and i am committed to offering counselling that is sensitive to each person’s unique needs and circumstances.

Whether you are navigating questions about your identity, relationships, culture, neurodiversity, mental health, family circumstances or life experiences, you will be met with respect, curiosity and compassion. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe to be yourself and explore whatever is important to you.

Come as you are …

There is no right or wrong reason to come to counselling. Some people come with a clear idea of what they would like to work on, while others simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right. You might be struggling with a specific issue, feeling overwhelmed by lots of different things, or finding it difficult to put your feelings into words.

You don’t need to have all the answers before you start counselling. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say, and you don’t need to wait until you’ve reached a crisis point.

Whatever brings you here, I will meet you where you are. Together we can take the time to explore what’s happening for you and think about what support feels right for you.
